Welcome, Anglers Welcome to the 14th annual Boca Grande Chamber’s “World’s Richest Tarpon Tournament 2004! The fever is rising - Tarpon Fever, that is! The “mighty silver king” are making their annual migration to the world famous Boca Grande lass. Their sliver beauty is breath taking as they frolic and roll to everyone’s delight. The “World’s Richest” Tournament again this year is a qualifying event for the JGFA series. Our 2004 winning angler will be invited to participate in the IGFA/Rolex Inshore Championship Tournament to be held in the Keys. Please read through your program carefully as it is full of valuable information. It is particularly important that captains and anglers read the rules and regulations. As anglers and captains you are invited to attend the Captain’s Party, held at Boca Bay Pass Club, Silver King Celebration downtown, and Awards and Volunteer Appreciation Party at the Boca Bay Power House. We invite friends and families to the Tournament Spectator Tent at the Gasparilla State Park Beach where you can enjoy the fishing action, take a boat ride, participate in the sand sculpture contest and listen to up to the minute fishing reports. We are very pleased to have two teams in our fleet fishing for their favorite charities: “Fishin for Remission”, the American Cancer Society team and “The Make A Wish” Foundation team. A gracious thank you to all of our sponsors. Our Platinum Sponsors are: All American Boat Storage, Boca Grande Mortgage Group, Caddy Carts, Chico’s, Gasparilla Properties, McHugh-Porter Builders, Inc., Morgan Keegan & Co., Inc. A very special thank you to our great chamber membership, the Boca Grande Fishing Guides Association, our army of volunteers and the community of Boca Grande for helping put this annual event on. We would also like to thank the management and staff of Gasparilla Island State Park for their great facilities and warm hospitality. We hope your visit to our park will be a memorable one and that you will visit us often. The entire Tournament Committee has worked as a great team this year and our new Chamber Executive Director; Craig Lutz has done a fantastic job of pulling it all together. Many, many thanks to our great Chamber President, Carol Stewart and to my right hand, Co - Chair, Lidija Migliaccio. Great fishing, music, dancing, food, raffles, lots of fun times and fabulous memories are in store for you this week. Please come and enjoy! Catch 'em up!! Betsy F. Joiner 2004 Tournament Director |
